SimuLearn
The Virtual Entrepreneurship Practicum

Run a Nigerian business for four weeks. Prove your commercial instincts.

Take over a simulated business in one of twenty-six Nigerian markets, from a dispatch fleet on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway to a Potiskum cattle yard, a Kano keke fleet or an Enugu thrift society. Decide under naira swings, fuel shocks, credit risk and tight working capital, then get graded on how you decide.

Built to run on low data. Foundation markets are free to play. Lecturers, facilitators and programme leads can run a pilot cohort on any of the twenty-six markets.

A real business. Real consequences. Every decision carried forward.

Every course runs four weeks, each its own game opened from the one before, and the books, the record and the reputation travel with the student. Foundation markets run five periods. Advanced markets run a full year of twelve months or multi-year, with the financial statements built from every decision.

1

Run it

Make the opening decision and run the market period by period, five periods in Foundation and twelve periods across one or more years in Advanced, with a numbers check each time.

2

Read the books

Income statement, balance sheet and cash flow are generated from every decision, and they balance.

3

Face the shock

Inflation, a currency or supply shock and the tax office: VAT, income tax, payroll, registration, inspections, and dilemmas where the shortcut pays.

4

Pitch and decide

Value the business, make claims the record must back up, negotiate with a lender and investors, and answer questions on your own numbers.

Graded on judgement, not luck

Every game is deterministic and replays exactly from its stored decisions, so a result can be audited and a certificate verified.

Rigor

Did the numbers check out, and did you understand your own books?

Risk

Did you cover the risks you could see coming, such as disease, recall, theft or a price swing?

Efficiency

How well did you use cash, capacity and stock?

Adaptability

How did you respond when conditions changed?

Ethics

Did you stay honest when a shortcut or an overstated claim would have paid?

A certificate standard is met at a score of 70 or more. A serious breach or false claim caps the week.

Twenty-six markets, each a different game

Not a re-skin. Each market has its own opening decision, mechanics, numbers check and scoring, with a dated market brief that tags every figure as sourced, reported or assumed.

Built for lecturers and facilitators

Adopt SimuLearn as the Virtual Entrepreneurship Practicum for GST 222, ENT 201 or ENT 301, or any enterprise programme. Set up a course in minutes and see where each learner stands without marking by hand.

Course set-up

Choose one week or all four, lock a market if you want, and set the weights. Learners join with a code and an Identifier Number (Matric / Call-up No.).

Roster and CSV

Live status, scores by week, integrity flags and suggested marks out of your own total, exportable to a spreadsheet.

Dossier

For the final week, a printable file with the figures, pitch, offers, negotiation, answers and the student's written note, for a viva.

Verifiable certificates

Each certificate carries a signed code and QR. Anyone can check it, and the check replays the game.

Simple pricing

Foundation markets are free. The Advanced bundle unlocks the sixteen full-year markets for one year.

Questions lecturers and programme leads ask

Are the figures real?

Every market opens with a dated brief. Figures such as the policy rate, inflation, fuel prices and the official exchange rate are sourced. Many trade-level figures are labelled as assumptions, and the game says so on screen. Practitioners can review each one before a cohort starts.

Can students cheat or share answers?

Each student gets their own seed, so no two games are identical. Decisions are stored and replayed on the server, wrong answers are recorded as evidence, and unusual patterns appear as flags on your roster.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The app is designed for a 360-pixel phone screen and installs like an app, so students can play on the device they already have.

How is it marked?

Five parts: rigor, risk, efficiency, adaptability and ethics. The roster can turn the score into suggested marks out of your own total, and you can put the emphasis on the part you teach most.

Is it ready for my class?

SimuLearn is entering supervised pilots. Scoring bands are being set and checked with real cohorts, and tax and funding parameters are reviewed by practitioners. If you would like to run a pilot, write to us.
